Karine DEBOUDT received her PhD in Macromolecular and Organic Chemistry from the University of Sciences & Technologies of Lille (France) in 1994. Since this date, she has been on the faculty at University of the Littoral Opal Coast as Assistant Professor and then as Professor, where she has worked on the transport and reactivity of inorganic atmospheric aerosol and on the associated metrology, notably by analytical microscopy. She obtained her State PhD (HDR) in 2009.

Her current research interests include :

  • Physico-chemical evolution of aerosols in urban and industrial plumes at the urban and regional scale.
  • Evolution of the mixing state African dust and biomass burning particles at a continental scale.
  • Developments of methodology for the characterization of atmospheric particles at the particle scale (notably using TSEM-EDX and TEM-EELS).
