Current Research Interests

The specialty of Elsa Dieudonné (https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5320-243X) is atmospheric remote sensing using different types of lidars (elastic, Raman N2, Doppler), with a profile oriented towards performing field campaigns and analyzing the data collected.

Her competences include developing inversion algorithms, coupling lidar observations with other types of measures (in-situ, space-borne…), and interpreting the results in regards with the model outputs (reanalyzes, back-trajectories…).

The common thread of her work is studying the spatial and temporal variability of air pollutants (gazes or particles) as a function of the meteorological conditions (wind, boundary layer height, air mass origin…). The scales involved are multiple, as it can concern diurnal, seasonal or semi-climatic variability, and local, regional or continental transport of the pollutants. The work of Elsa Dieudonné is structured in two themes: the first one concerns directly the variability of pollutants concentrations or of their properties, at different spatial and temporal scales; the second theme bears on the dynamical processes influencing pollutants’ dispersions from the local scale (turbulence) to the regional scale (low-level jets…).
