Dynamic monitoring of offshore wind turbines subjected to atmospheric phenomena for optimized participation in electricity markets is the core of the SALOMÉ project. Funded by the Interreg France – Wallonia – Flanders program, the project launch meeting took place on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at the University of Mons. This event was an opportunity to present the project to the scientific community but also to the various partners who made it possible to achieve this project as well as to the administrative staff. During this event, ULCO was well represented by the LPCA but also by its research valorization service, the SFR Campus de la Mer and with the support of the MTE Cluster.

In addition, this event allowed the ELIA group to present their project to prepare their offshore electricity grid infrastructures for the integration of large volumes of renewable production and to show their interest in the SALOMÉ project. The same was true for ENTSO-E, which plays a key role in the development of the European electricity network and in achieving the ambitious European decarbonisation targets by 2050.
