On 24th September 2024, Polytech Lille celebrated a pivotal moment with the Inaugural Day of its Science for a Changing Planet Graduate Program. This exciting event, hosted at the MIGEON auditorium on the Cité Scientifique Campus, gathered students, faculty, and leading researchers for a day of groundbreaking scientific talks, lively discussions, and invaluable networking opportunities. The event underscored the program’s interdisciplinary approach, designed to inspire collaboration and fuel innovation across a range of scientific fields.

The day’s agenda was packed with Scientific Talks delivered by renowned academics, sharing their latest cutting-edge research. A highlight of the event was the Poster and Mobility Presentations session, where PhD students took the spotlight. This segment allowed students to showcase their pioneering research, exchange ideas, and dive deep into discussions on methodologies. It also included presentations from students who had experienced international research exchanges, offering a unique perspective on the global nature of modern science and the invaluable lessons gained through mobility projects.

Among the standout contributors was Sandy Solaiman, representing the LPCA laboratory. Sandy’s poster is on Secondary Organic Aerosol Formation from the Gas-Phase Reaction of Myrtenal with NO3 Radicals exploring complex atmospheric chemistry and shedding light on the behavior of organic aerosols. This research not only enhances our understanding of environmental processes but also plays a crucial role in advancing climate science.
