The LPCA participates in “Maths Week 2024”

Mathématiques

As part of mathematics week, a lively conference ‘Anima’conf Expérimaths’ will be held in the Planetarium of the Palais de L’Univers et des Sciences (PLUS), on Friday March 15, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.: 10 for school groups and from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for the general public (free). This Anima’conf will take you on a journey through fun scientific experiments behind which the language of mathematics is hidden.

These spectacular scientific experiments that will be presented will make you discover that mastering Science allows you to create Art. Among them, you will admire the creation of a tornado (with the possibility of touching it), the omnipresent presence of turbulence (via a laser sheet) but also other physical phenomena generated by a fabulous 3D vortex cannon, a tube by Venturi…. Because “It is through experience that science and art progress”
In addition, this year, the theme of mathematics week is ‘The important thing is to participate’, so a Quiz will be organized throughout the Anima’conf in order to collect points to obtain surprises .

This conference will be hosted by ULCO Research staff including Dominique SCHNEIDER (Director of the MTE Pole/Teacher-researcher at LMPA), Sylvain DELENCLOS (Teacher-researcher at UDSMM/IUT MT2E), Véronique VANVINCQ (UCEIV/Pôle MTE) and Patrick AUGUSTIN (Research engineer at LPCA).
